The New T5:
Reconfigured Terminal 5 Realizes Plan for the Future
Opened in 2023, Terminal 5 features vaulted ceilings that fill the space with natural light and offer views of the Chicago skyline. Designed by Müller & Müller in partnership with HOK, the modernized terminal is built to meet future demand. Security checkpoints and customs facilities bring both international and domestic flights to Terminal 5, allowing smooth transfers between flights and reducing transfer times, particularly for customers of Delta Air Lines and its SkyTeam partners. The L-shaped East Concourse extension adds new gates with flexible ramp systems to accommodate nine wide-body or 14 narrow-body aircraft. Chicago's new Delta Sky Club, with four times the space, is the airline's first to board select flights from inside the lounge.
